In Agent Arena: Hy3 lands at #25 overall (net -2.2%). Hy3 has strengths in tool-use (recovering well from CLI/bash errors, +2.6% and #25), its biggest weakness is steerability as it struggles to course-correct when users push back, coming in at -7.1% (#30).

Agent Arena measures models on millions of real-world, long-horizon agentic tasks. Models get web search, filesystem, and terminal tools to complete complex workflows: writing code, creating slide decks, researching the web, building apps, and analyzing documents.

We use causal tracing methodology to measure a model's net improvement, which indicates how much it improves outcomes relative to the average model.

Tencent's Hy3 lands today with real coding and agent ability and a price that undercuts the models you'd put it against.

It's a 295B MoE with only 21B active parameters, a big part of why it stays cheap to serve, plus a 256K context window and an Apache 2.0 license that even outperforms GLM-5.1 although GLM is 2.5x larger.

On OpenRouter it runs at $0.14 per million input tokens and $0.58 per million output. For a model Tencent benchmarks against much larger flagships, that pricing is insane. Price-performance-ratio is China's real moat.

I already wrote about Tencent Hy3 earlier and the significant leap in quality it represents. Therefore, I'm pleased to recommend this model from @TencentHunyuan.

1、Most RL stacks are built for one modality. UniRL applies a single post-training loop — generate → score → advantage → update → sync — across model families. Model and algorithm are two independent axes, so your coverage is the model × algorithm product, not a fixed recipe menu.

2、One loop, every modality: text→image, text/image→video, vision-language, text-only LLM and VLM, the LLM→diffusion prompt-enhancer, and unified autoregressive+diffusion generation (Hunyuan-Image 3 and Bagel) — a model class no single-purpose RL repo can even express.

3、Built to scale: pluggable rollout engines (train-side / SGLang / vLLM-Omni) behind one typed contract, FSDP2 sharding, and three deployment modes from a single config knob.

Tencent Hy, in collaboration with SJTU, SII, NTU, TJU, ZODA, PKU, FDU, and other collaborators, introduces MMAE.

MMAE--A Massive Multitask Audio Editing Benchmark, is the first comprehensive evaluation benchmark for speech and audio "Banana🍌"

Instead of simply requiring the AI to "generate" audio, it demands that the AI understand an existing audio clip and precisely modify it according to natural language instructions—altering what needs to be changed while leaving the rest untouched.

Current models show an Exact Match Rate (EMR) below 5%, revealing a major gap in reliable audio editing.

MMAE includes:
✅ 2,000 high-fidelity samples from real-world scenarios
✅ 17,741 fine-grained rubric evaluation items
✅ 7 modality settings across sound, music, speech and their mixtures
✅ 6 task complexity from basic modifications to multi-hop reasoning and multi-round editing
✅ 8 operation types across local and global granularities

Hy-MT2 is a powerful multilingual model supporting seamless translation across 33 languages — and it's fully open-source!

It's 7B and 30B-A3B models achieve state-of-the-art performance among all open-source models on various translation tasks, surpassing models with dozens of times more parameters.

The lightweight 1.8B model even outperforms mainstream commercial APIs like Microsoft and so on. Powered by Tencent AngelSlim 1.25-bit extreme quantization, it needs just 440MB storage and enables effortless local inference on mainstream mobile chips — with 1.5x faster speed vs. Hy-MT1.5.

The dataset spans 3,000 years of evolution. It covers 7 historical scripts from Oracle Bone to Cursive, featuring 2,800 balanced images across highly diverse physical media.

We assess models on 4 core tasks: 

• Character Spotting 
• Fine-grained Recognition 
• Ancient Text Parsing
 • Script Classification

We're open-sourcing Hy-MT1.5-1.8B-1.25bit — a 440MB translation model that runs fully offline on your phone, supports 33 languages, and outperforms Google Translate.

At 1.8B parameters, it matches commercial translation APIs and 235B-scale models on standard benchmarks. By quantizing to 1.25-bit, memory drops from 3.3GB (FP16) to 440MB — 25% smaller and ~10% faster than prior 1.67-bit approaches, with no accuracy loss.

Covers 33 languages, 5 dialects, and 1,056 translation directions including minority languages like Tibetan and Mongolian.

Our translation model has won 30 first-place rankings in international MT competitions and is already deployed across multiple Tencent products.🏆

I'm rendering a couple of worlds in the video, so check it out.

You'll find the GitHub and the @huggingface links to the model below.

This is a multi-modal world model that you can use for a bunch of things:

• To generate new worlds
• To reconstruct worlds
• To simulate 3D interactive worlds from a prompt, images, or a video

You can edit the 3D outputs in Unity and Unreal Engine (they export as meshes, 3DGS files, and point clouds).

You can also generate 3D characters in the world and walk around. Pretty fun stuff!

We're releasing HY-Embodied-0.5, a family of foundation models for real-world embodied agents. The 2B model is now open source.

It strengthens spatial-temporal perception and embodied reasoning for prediction, interaction, and planning. 🤖

The suite includes:
🔹 2B for edge deployment
🔹 32B for complex reasoning

Key innovations:
🔹 Mixture-of-Transformers (MoT) architecture for modality-specific computation
🔹 Latent tokens for improved perceptual representation
🔹 Self-evolving post-training
🔹 On-policy distillation from large to small models

Across 22 benchmarks, the 2B model outperforms similarly sized SOTA systems on 16 tasks. The 32B model approaches frontier-level performance.

New research with @Tsinghua_Uni: Spatial-TTT.

A framework for streaming visual-based spatial intelligence with test-time training (TTT). Spatial-TTT adapts fast weights to capture and organize spatial evidence from long video streams, enabling models to build structured 3D spatial memory over time.

Highlights:
🔹Efficient streaming memory. Fast weights act as compact spatial memory with sublinear memory growth over 7000+ frames and more than 40% lower compute.
🔹Spatial-predictive mechanism. TTT layers with 3D spatiotemporal convolution capture geometric correspondence and temporal continuity.
🔹SOTA results on long-horizon video spatial understanding (VSI-Bench).

The paper ranked #1 on @huggingface Daily Papers on March 13.

Nice experiment with facial rigs and expressions.

The low-poly base mesh here was generated in Tencent HY 3D Studio and brought into Unreal Engine.

In this experiment I wanted to try something with facial expressions and have it work with native Unreal Engine tools. I did find that generating the head with an open mouth helped to get some extra details. 

Creating those blend shapes was still not easy and this result is far from perfect. Ideally i want 58 generated expression references and have AI figure that out haha.

btw first time baking the high poly details onto the low poly generated character. That worked surprisingly well! Endresult has 34k triangles! 

Built this character in 4 separate parts in Blender and generated each part in Hunyuan 3D Studio. The original references came from Nano Banana 2 and Grok. Trellis 2 in ComfyUI for the texturing. The animation was done with Control Rig in UEFN / Unreal Engine.

With all the experiments so far, file and version management start to become a challenge. Getting files from different platforms with each platform having their own filename logic. I’ll have to find something to keep it more organized. Any suggestions?
